Obituary of Leo Wesley Spencer

Leo Wesley Spencer was born on August 22, 1977 in Weiser, Idaho to Gordon & JoAnn Spencer. Leo passed away at the age of 46 on September 18, 2023.  Leo graduated from Weiser High School in 1996 and went to Centennial Job Corps where he studied Culinary Arts and graduated in March 1998.  He then married his wife Jennifer on August 28, 1998, just celebrating 25 years together.  Leo worked at McDonald's until he was medically unable to work.  They have a son and a daughter with whom he enjoyed playing board games, going camping, and taking trips to eastern Idaho.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, computer and video games.  His favorite pastime was playing video games with his children, nieces and nephews.  He loved to crack jokes no matter what the circumstances were.  He loved to be around family and friends on Sundays to play pinochle.  Leo was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He never knew a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Spencer of Weiser, a son Tanner Spencer of Weiser, a daughter Jordan (Riley) Darby of Weiser, brother Brad (Kristie) Spencer of Weiser, father-in-law Bud Phelps of Council, Idaho, sister-in-law Jamie (Cesar) Reyes of Ontario, Oregon, brother-in-law Steve (Janine) Phelps of Princeton, Kentucky, numerous nieces and nephews.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Spencer & JoAnn Duncan Howard, sister Jacqueline Jackling, grandparents Delbert and Goldie Duncan, Wayne and Grace Spencer, great niece Freya Finch and mother-in-law Shirley Phelps.

On behalf of Leo Spencer, the family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the person who anonymously paid for his cremation.

Services for Leo Spencer will be held at the Weiser Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on October 12, 2023 at 3 pm.
