Obituary of Michel Alan Bain

Michel Alan Bain was born September 21, 1974 in Nyssa OR. To parents, William (Bill) & Krysten Bain. He grew up in both Oregon and Idaho. In 1993 at the age of 19, Mike began his pursuit of finding work in the fishing industry of Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Starting first as a deckhand, Mike diligently worked his way through school and eventually earned the title of Captain.  Mikes passion for Fishing and hunger for knowledge didn’t stop there. He eventually went on to obtain his Mechanical Engineering degree, his 10,000 ton Master’s license, as well as his helicopter pilots license. 

Mike Married Cynda Thomason- Bain, December 13th, 2003. Together they had 4 beautiful children; Adam, Charliegh-Jo, Cody, and Payten Bain. After an amicable separation years down the line. Mike met and fell in love with his life partner, Candace Fischer while living in Dutch Harbor and, they had three more beautiful daughters. Kaylee-Rose, Lakota, and Cheyenne Bain. In 2013 they moved to Huntington OR to raise their children together and be closer to Mikes Mother. 

In June of 2019 Mike suffered a severe injury that resulted in the loss of use of his left arm, multiple surgeries, and was the catalyst behind a forced early retirement. 

Mike was dearly loved by all who knew him. He was a man of his word, and fiercely loyal to the ones he loved. He was kind and compassionate and a very proud Father and Grandfather with a solid gold heart. He often told anyone who would listen about his pride for his children and their many collective accomplishments. His heart and soul truly laid with his family. 

Mike is survived by his Life partner, Candace Fischer, and Cynda Thomason-Bain. Their children: Son, John Donahue of MCMinnville OR. Son’s Adam & Cody Bain, of Boise ID. Daughters, Charliegh-Jo, and Payten Bain of Boise ID. Daughters, Kaylee, Lakota, and Cheyenne of Huntington OR. His Mother, Krysten Cox of Huntington OR. His Sister, K’lyn Bain or Oregon City OR. His step siblings, Michelle, Stephanie, Jadon and 7 Grandchildren. 

Mike was proceeded in death by his Father, Bill Bain. Step Father, Steven Cox. Both paternal and maternal Grandparents and his name sake Uncle Mike Runcorn.
