Obituary of Janice Marie Knapp

Janice Marie Knapp went to live with her Heavenly Father on February 28, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family and friends.

Janice was born August 1, 1939 in Hotchkiss, Colorado. The daughter of Charles and Marie Piatt. Her family moved to Ontario when she was nine years old where she completed her schooling.

Janice’s working career started at A&W Rootbeer. Then she worked for FM Seed Co.; F&F Sports Center; Will Lindsey Cyclery. Her last job was working for Todd and Vickey Heinz at Making Track Cyclery.

After her retirement she had more time to enjoy her grandchildren, flowers, gardening, hunting and fishing. She spent many enjoyable weekends at the family cabin on Owyhee Reservoir with kids and grandchildren. On all family hunting grips, she was the designated pick-up driver. She was a good shot and filled her own tags.

Janice was a super mother to her three son’s; her two sister’s from the age of eight; countless nieces, nephews and even a few strays along the way.

Janice was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held many callings in the church. She loved her Heavenly Father.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; sons, Rick of Renton, WA; son, David and his wife Rosie of Ontario, OR; son, Randy and his wife Shelley of Brookings, OR; and a special love for Mike Anderson and his family. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; her twin sister Joyce and sister Betty; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held Saturday, June 15th at 11 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center, 1705 NW 4th Ave., Ontario, OR. Please send condolences to St. Jude or your favorite charity.
