Obituary of David R. Freer

David Ronald Freer – beloved son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at the age of 77 in Weiser, Idaho. David was born July 25, 1939 in Auburn, Washington to Martin and Ann Freer. He enlisted in the Navy December 21, 1956 and completed his service as a BT3 on February 19, 1963. He spent the better part of his life self-employed in the auto industry. He married Dee Charters December 9, 1979 in Carson City, Nevada and both are active members of the Elks BPOE 1683. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, riding horses and racing jeeps. His greatest pleasure came from spending time with family and friends…especially all of his granddaughters. David is survived by his wife Dee; his mother Ann; his daughter Deborah (Freer) Kay and her husband Anthony; his son Tim Freer and Fiance’ Shela Gable; daughter Lori Jioras and her husband Tony; son Jim Holsbeck; daughter-in-law Rachel Holsbeck; Granddaughters Kristen and Sarah Plessner, Andrea and Kaelyn Jioras and Hailey and Madison Holsbeck; brother Eugene Freer and his wife Mary Lee; sister-in-law Peggy Charters and many very special nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. David is preceded in death by his father Martin Freer; sister Patty Freer and grandson Ryan Plessner. David was loved by all for his shining personality and quick wit and will tremendously missed. Funeral Services will be held at Thomason Funeral Home 221 E. Court Street, Weiser, Idaho on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11;30 a.m. Reception immediately following at the Weiser Elks Lodge, 38 W. Idaho Street. All are welcome to join in the celebration of David’s life.
