Obituary of Tyler B. Lancaster

Tyler Blaine Lancaster, 37, beloved husband, father, son, grandson, brother, and friend passed into eternal rest March 26, 2017. Tyler was a resident of Portland Ore, formally of Klamath Falls, Or. Phoenix, Or, Keno, Or, and Fruitland, Id.. Tyler was born Sept. 6th, 1979, in Ontario, Or, the son of Joyce (Strawn) and Michael Lancaster of Fruitland, Id. He joined an only brother, Chad Michael, then 27 months old. Ty’s parents later divorced. In 1983, he moved to Lincoln City, Or, with his brother, mother and soon to be step father, Kim Nichols, where he soon learned the love of the ocean, where he enjoyed playing on the beach for hours, gathering shells and driftwood, or going fishing and learning to crab from the end of the pier. In 1984, he began first grade at DeLake Elementary School. In 1986 the family, tired of coastal life, made the move to Phoenix Or, where Ty went to second grade, and he and brother Chad spent the summer learning to swim. By the end of the summer, they both could out swim most any fish! Then in 1987, due to a job transfer, the family once again pulled up their roots, and this time they headed over the mountain for Keno, Or, where Ty spent half of his third grade year before another job transfer took the family to Klamath Falls, Or. where Ty attended Ferguson Elementary school for the next two and ½ years, finishing 5th grade. Then in 1990, his family finally was able to settle down! They purchased a home across town and Ty entered Mills Elementary as a 6th grader. The next two years found Ty at Ponderosa Jr. High, where he was on the basketball team, and in 1993, Tyler entered high school, as a mighty Pelican at Klamath Union High School! He graduated in May, 1997. After graduating from high school, Ty took a few years off from school, but worked at several jobs, ranging from his first job at Ragin’ Burger, to working for Sykes, Inc, where he worked for Apple Computers, as a systems matter expert. Then Ty headed back to school for another couple of years, taking classes at Klamath Community College, but soon found his interests lay elsewhere. So he quit college and began classes as a CNA. Ty had always been wonderful with the elderly and the sick, and that was where he truly excelled. He completed all his courses, and graduated with his class. However , he never went back to take his boards. A short time later, Tyler met Rachel Alexander, and after dating about a year, they were married on Dec.31, 2002. They divorced a year later. Then Tyler’s world changed forever when he met the love of his life, Robin King, and their fairy tale romance began! Robin turned the lights back on in Tyler’s world, and put the sparkle back in his eyes! Robin brought to this this relationship an 11 year old daughter, Mariah, who in the beginning was not easily wooed and gave Ty a run for his money! But it wasn’t long before he had not only won over her mother heart, but he had won Mariah’s heart too! So on May 6th, 2011, Ty and Robin were married and with Mariah they became a beautiful family. Later that same year, they were blessed with a healthy baby boy, Tyler Quinn, who was a spittin’ image of his daddy when he was born! He was the joy to everyone’s eye, and made Ty the proudest father on earth! Then on January,2, 2014, their second son would join their family. Alexander was a perfectly adorable baby, and Ty and Robin were overjoyed to have their family complete! Ty was a supportive and devoted husband, and a tender and gentle father. He was a loving and caring son and brother, and a better friend could not be found. He is remembered by his friends as a caring and trustworthy confidante with a witty sense of humor. He was an avid basketball fan, especially rooting for his Golden State Warriors, to the shock of the few who knew him as a Lakers fan earlier in life. He loved Sci-Fi with a Star Trek fanaticism that could not be matched . Ty had an infectious laugh, a quick smile, and the unique ability to make people feel comfortable right away and he appreciated a good time! Ty could boast an expansive collection of dedicated friendships, most that actively went back decades. His loyalty, happiness, and good humor, fused lasting bonds with all that met him. He radiated a love for his family and friends that will continue to impact their lives forever.
