Gene David Froshiesar passed away peacefully on February 9, 2018 in Weiser, Idaho from liver cirrhosis and cancer. Gene was born on December 3, 1947 to John Jr. and Esther (Derr) Froshiesar in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. The family moved to Weiser, Idaho when Gene was three years old. He attended Weiser schools and graduated in 1967. After high school Gene farmed along with his father John Jr. and brother, Danny. He soon married and two children were born daughter, Stacee and son, Keven. Gene continued to farm part time while he held a full-time job as well. Although he never retired from farming he did retire from a full-time job at Snake River Correctional Institution in 2014. Most people will remember Gene from his contagious laugh and his positive outlook on life. He always made time for his children and grandchildren and could be found at every activity they participated in. He had a great passion for hunting and fishing and teaching others his favorite past times. Family was very important to him along with his Christian faith. He was a member of the Community Church of Weiser. He is survived by his daughter Stacee (Robert) Wolfe and son Keven and daughter-in-law Gladys Froshiesar. Grandchildren: Kassandra (Shane) Williams, Wyatt and Clayton Wolfe. As well as Eileen, Alexandra, Isabella, and Olivia Froshiesar. Two great-granddaughters: Taylor and Jordan Williams. Special aunt, Joanne Froshiesar. He was proceeded in death by his parents John Jr. and Esther and special uncle Carl Froshiesar. Interment will be on Saturday February 17 at 9:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at the Community Church of Weiser at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home.
