David (Jack) John Kealiher 81 of Indian Valley, ID went to meet his Lord and Savior on Sunday July 30, 2017. Services will be on Saturday August 5, 2017 at the Community Center in Indian Valley at 803 Indian Valley Rd., in Indian Valley, ID. Viewing will be from 10-11 am, service to follow at 11, there will be a graveside service at Indian Valley cemetery. Lunch will be served back at the Community Center.
Jack as he was called by friends and family was born December 10, 1035 in Pasadena, CA to Richard and Geneva Kealiher. After high school Jack married the love of his life Shirley Dell Gilmore who he affectionately called “Girl”. They were together for 62 years all filled with love and joy.
They travelled together through life as Jack finished school to become an ordained minister in the Nazarene Church. He ministered in LaFayette CO, Superior Neb., Houghton, NY, Carthage SD, Williston ND, Alexander ND, in Nampo ID he pastored at First Church of the Nazarene and North Nampa. Jack then became an evangelist spreading the word of God.
Jack also was part owner in a family business, Kealiher Company Builders of Beautiful Churches, he couldn’t preach at all churches but could provide a place for others to worship. He was also the owner of Builders Electric in Nampa, ID where he was an electrical contractor. Over the years Jack and Shirley traveled together spreading Gods word. On their way they had 6 children. Every summer they would vacation camping and hiking, Jack loved to camp and be outdoors.
His children were the light of his life and they adored him as did his many grand children and great grand children. Jack loved to talk about God and sing His praises. He loved to wrestle with his grandsons and teach them self defense which sometimes ended in a bruise or two!!His dry sense of humor brought many smiles. He had a love for his beloved horses and a good game of chess! He will be missed but we know he is at home conversing with God and singing with the angels.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Geneva Kealiher, his brother Richard (Dick) Kealiher, infant son David Joel Kealiher, granddaughter Ruthie Joy DeVore, and son in law Mike Hughes.
He is survived by his wife Of 62 years Shirley. Daughters, Karen (Steve) DeVore, Julie Elliott, Lisa Hughes, Johnna Kealiher, Marla (Ralph) Romero. Grandchildren, Joel, Sarah, Zack, David, Hannah, Bekka, Suzie, Sam, Josh and Daniel DeVore. Mya, Jaren and Danika Reyna Kaleb Hughes Rianna, Caitlin and Shelby Kealiher Gabe, Luke and Nick Romero. 33 Great grand children. His sister Jan-Jeanette (Clyde) Kealiher Stoker. His work is done and the faithful servant has returned home.
